BJP National Executive
The BJP today asserted that it has snatched the pro-poor plank of Congress and other parties claiming that the poor is now backing Prime Minister Narendra Modi. BJP President Amit Shah made his remarks during his inaugural address at the two day party National Executive meeting in New Delhi. He targeted the opposition parties for criticising the demonetisation saying they used to earlier question what the government has done against black money and now they are questioning the government. Mr Shah said, the opposition parties have now been exposed.
Giving details of Mr Shah’s address, Union Minister and BJP leader Prakash Javadekar said Mr Shah said the outcomes of the demonetisation are now visible as it has badly hit the black money, fake currency, terror funding, naxal activities and drug dealers. Mr Shah said, the people of the country have hailed this historic decision saying that the note ban decision would result in more revenues that will be spent on pro-poor welfare measures.
Mr Javadekar said Mr Shah also mentioned in his speech that the surgical strikes carried out by the Army across the LoC were recognised across the world and it reflects government’s intention towards zero tolerance against terrorism. Mr Shah also expressed concern for doing politics by some opposition parties on surgical strikes.
Mr Javadekar also said, during his speech the BJP President also appealed to all the political parties to think of holding Lok Sabha and States Assembly polls simultaneously. He said, the party has also constituted a committee to submit a report in this regard.
Mr Shah also asked the party workers to strengthen its organisational base in those area where the party base is not strong. The BJP National Executive also felicitated the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his historic decisions in recent times during the meet.
Senior party leaders, Union Ministers and Chief Ministers of BJP ruled states are taking part in the meeting. Earlier in the day , Mr Shah chaired a meeting of party national office bearers and discussed various issues. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the valedictory session of the national executive tomorrow.
The BJP national executive also passed a political resolution. In it, the executive has congratulated the Prime Minister for the transformative initiatives in 2016 that have ushered in a new light in the lives of the poor and the downtrodden.On electoral reforms, the executive has extended its full support to Prime Minister’s initiative in the electoral reforms arena by calling for simultaneous polls to central and state legislatures. The National Executive opined that such a move together with several other important reforms would pave way for cleaner and healthier electoral practises in the country. It has also called for a wider debate on it .
