haitti-hurricanAt least three persons were killed and more than a million left without power in Florida, as a result of the fiercest Caribbean storm, Hurricane Matthew in nearly a decade, which is battering the coastline of Florida in United States costline.

According to National Hurricane Center the storm still packed 175 kilometer per hour winds with torrential rains and storm surges of up to 10 feet capable of devastating damage. Here is a report:-

The National Weather Service extended its hurricane warning northward into North Carolina also. President Barack Obama said the storm is still a really dangerous one. He said the potential for storm surge, flooding, loss of life and severe property damage continues to exist.

Earlier, Obama had declared a federal state of emergency in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina. Meanwhile, The death toll in Haiti, as a result of Hurricane Matthew, has soared to more than 800. Rescue efforts are under way to assess the destruction left in the wake of the most powerful Caribbean storm in a decade.

The UN has said it could take days to assess the full impact of Hurricane Matthew in Haiti as rescue teams gain access to southern areas cut off by the storm.
