Karnataka Government has decided to implement Supreme Court order on Cauvery water, After emergency Cabinet meeting Chief Minister Siddaramaiah warns miscreants, says strict action will be taken against those indulging in violence.
In an important development, Karnataka Chief Minister has sought intervention Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the Cauvery Water dispute.
Addressing media after an emergency cabinet meeting, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that his government will implement the supreme Court directive to release 12000 cusecs of Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu till September 20.
The Chief Minister also warned all those indulging in violence in the state and appealed for peace and tranquility. He said that strict action will be taken against them.
The Chief Minister said that though it is difficult to implement the supreme court order, the state government will abide by it.
The CM further said that he had written to the PM asking to meet him tomorrow over the issue.
