Brazil’s Senate today voted to hold an impeachment trial for the nation’s suspended President Dilma Rousseff. The process could see her permanently removed from office. The vote in favour of trying Rousseff was 59 in favor, 21 against. The Senate suspended Rousseff in May over alleged illegal accounting practices.
