Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Doha, Qatar Saturday evening where he was warmly received by his Qatari counterpart Abdullah Bin Naseer Bin Khalifa Al Thani.
Later PM visited Workers Camp in Doha and interacted with Indian Workers at a project site in Mesheireb in Downtown Doha.
Addressing the assembled workers, he said that his first engagement after arriving in Doha was to meet them. The Prime Minister said he is aware of the issues being faced by them, and raises them with the Qatari leadership whenever he meets them.
The Prime Minister, who briefly visited a medical camp on the site, before arriving for the interaction, complimented the doctors for the good work they have been doing.
Indian Community and Benevolent Forum celebrated the silver jubilee of the medical camps on the occasion as it held its 25th medical camp on the premises. Over 500 workers from different states of India were provided free treatment at the event and about 18 doctors were on hand to check and provide consultations to the workers.
After concluding his address, the Prime Minister moved from table to table, interacting with groups of workers, and sat down to share a meal with some of them.
Prime Minister Modi was accompanied by HE Ali Sherif al-Emadi, Minister of Finance, HE Dr. Hanan Mohamed al-Kuwari, Minister of Public Health, Abdulla al-Mehshadi, CEO of Msheireb Properties and Indian Ambassador Sanjiv Arora.
