Two person were injured in a bomb blast and shooting attack at a religious gathering at a ISKCON (International Society of Krishna Consciousness) temple in Dinajpur, northern part of the country by unidentified assailants last night. One of the injured is serious and has been transferred to Rangpur Medical College for spine surgery.

Dinajpur Superintendent of Police Sujon Sarkar said assailants threw a crude bomb inside the temple which did not explode, but triggered a hue and cry. While escaping, one of the assailants fired two gun shots which injured the two devotees. Local people managed to nab one suspect who has been taken into custody.

Police said several RAB teams are looking for the assailants. Meanwhile security has been strengthened at the temple. The attack has come just 5 days after bomb blasts at the Kantaji Temple in the same sub district in Dinajpur left 10 people injured, which police has claimed was due to business rivalry.

On November 30, a priest of the ISKCON temple was shot in Dinajpur, while an Italian priest was attacked on November 18 in the same district.
