BJP today lashed out at the Congress for raking up Union Minister V K Singh’s alleged anti-Dalit comments to disrupt the proceedings in the Rajya Sabha and accused the opposition party of exploiting the community during its rule. Briefing reporters in New Delhi, party spokesperson Bizay Sonkar Shastri said the Minister has already clarified on his remarks which was not against the Dalits. He also took a dig at Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi for his comments that Gen Singh violated the Constitution saying the opposition party is trying to create an atmosphere against the Minister. Citing National Crime Records Bureau report, the BJP spokesperson claimed that the incidents of violence against Dalits in the country had increased multi-fold during 2004 to 2013 when UPA was in power.

Another party spokesperson G V L Narsimha Rao alleged that Congress is repeatedly making false statements against Gen Singh to prove them true.
