A local court in Uttar Pradesh, Wednesday rejected the closure report by CBI in the alleged gang rape and murder of two sisters in Badaun last year. The court rejected the report by the agency, which held that the girls in Katra Saadatganj were neither sexually assaulted nor killed but committed suicide.
Additional District Judge in Badaun summoned the main accused on the next date of hearing. Earlier, the families of the deceased girls, who were first cousins, had contested CBI’s claim that the two had committed suicide and maintained that they were raped and hanged.
