Govt, BJP Backs Sushma Swaraj, Lalit Modi Refuses to Comment on Travel Document Row

Former Indian Premier League Commissioner Lalit Modi has challenged the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to produce evidence against him. In an interview to a private TV, Modi said, he had given ED all the papers which led them to make case against the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Modi said, how can he be called a fugitive when there is no case pending in any court in India against him.

When asked why he is not returning to his country to face the allegations, Lalit Modi said he continues to live in United Kingdom due to security reasons. He also targeted former Union Minister P Chidambaram for withdrawing his security cover after he testified against Congress leader Shashi Tharoor.

Lalit Modi also asked the government to make the names of those implicated by the Justice Mudgal Committee on Spot fixing in the IPL, public. He claimed that he is not behind the leak of e-mails to the International Cricket Council in which three players were named for spot fixing in IPL. He said, the e-mails were leaked by the BCCI due to internal politics.
