The All India Kisan Sabha (AIKS) will hold its 36th All India Conference in Nalgonda, Telangana, from November 15 to 18, 2026, marking 90 years of the organisation. The conference will begin with a rally and public meeting expected to draw around one lakh farmers on November 15.
More than 800 delegates and observers from across the country, along with leaders of farmers’ and other mass organisations and the Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM), are expected to attend.
The conference slogan is “Resist Corporate Attacks on Farmers and Agriculture; Unite to Build a People’s Alternative.” The AIKS said discussions would focus on strengthening farmers’ and workers’ unity and shaping future struggles against policies it considers harmful to agriculture and rural livelihoods.
The organisation linked the conference to the 80th anniversary of the Telangana armed peasants’ struggle, arguing that the movement represented unity among Hindu and Muslim peasants. It accused the BJP and RSS of attempting to give the struggle a communal interpretation.
The AIKS also expressed concern over rising cultivation costs, indebtedness, crop losses linked to climate change, land acquisition and inadequate remunerative prices. It criticised free trade agreements, including the proposed India-US trade arrangements, warning that imports could put pressure on domestic farmers and rural livelihoods.
The organisation said the conference would chart the course for future nationwide protests, including the SKM’s November 26 call for demonstrations. It also announced support for the proposed People’s March on October 23, called by the SKM and other groups, against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls and demanding the removal of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
