Indian squash players delivered a strong performance at the Asian Games, with teenager Anahat Singh reaching the women’s singles final after a remarkable comeback against Japan’s world number six Satomi Watanabe. The 18-year-old, who trailed 0-2, fought back to win the semifinal 9-11, 11-13, 12-10, 11-6, 11-3.
In the men’s singles, Abhay Singh also entered the gold medal round with a convincing 3-0 victory over Pakistan’s Muhammad Irfan. Abhay dominated the 35-minute semifinal, winning 11-3, 12-10, 11-6 to move a step closer to the gold medal.
Earlier, Joshna Chinappa and Velavan Senthilkumar secured a bronze medal after losing 2-1 to Hong Kong’s Tang Ming Hong and Lee Ka Yi in the mixed doubles.
