The National Testing Agency (NTA) successfully conducted the NEET-UG 2026 re-examination across 5,440 domestic and 14 international centers today. Over 20 lakh candidates took the test, which was offered in 13 different languages, including English and Hindi.
To ensure the integrity of the process, the NTA implemented strict security measures, including biometric and facial authentication, CCTV surveillance, signal jammers, and two-layer frisking with the assistance of State Police. Monitoring operations were managed through command and control centers set up at the NTA headquarters, the Ministry of Education, 34 Centrally Funded Institutions, and various state and district offices.
Special accommodations were arranged for more than 10,000 candidates with disabilities and 81 students with specific medical conditions, such as individuals recovering from a road accident or undergoing chemotherapy.
The massive operation was completed in a record 37 days, mobilizing approximately seven lakh officials, observers, and police personnel. The examination relied on logistical and security support from the Central Armed Police Forces, the Ministry of External Affairs, the Department of Posts, the Indian Air Force, and the Ministry of Home Affairs. Additionally, several state governments assisted by providing essential facilities like shade, food, drinking water, and standby medical services for students and parents at the testing venues.
