Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Sanjay Singh on Friday alleged severe mismanagement and substandard living conditions for Indian Haj pilgrims in Makkah’s Aziziyah area.

In a post on social media, Singh claimed that pilgrims staying at the Asaf Al Quraishi hostel are facing “unacceptable” conditions despite reportedly paying around ₹4 lakh per person. He alleged that families have been separated, with as many as 16 people crammed into a single room, and only one unhygienic washroom available for them.

He further stated that the building’s lift is non-functional and that dirty water has accumulated inside rooms, worsening the situation for pilgrims.

Calling the situation “intolerable,” Singh urged the Haj Committee of India to take immediate action and ensure proper facilities for the pilgrims.
