A special lecture on “Iran War and the New Global Order” was organized by Anjuman Taraqqi Urdu Hind, West Bengal, at Urdu Ghar. The event brought together scholars and intellectuals to examine the geopolitical and civilizational dimensions of the ongoing conflict involving Iran.

The keynote address was delivered by noted academic, journalist, and filmmaker Dr. Syed Ali Mujtaba, who argued that the Iran conflict must be understood within the broader framework of the Clash of Civilizations. He emphasized that cultural and civilizational divides continue to shape global politics, while also asserting that the era of American hegemony is gradually waning, paving the way for a multipolar world order.

The programme was presided over by Dr. Safoora Razeque, Head of the Department of History at Aliah University, Kolkata. In her presidential remarks, she offered a nuanced perspective on the historical and geopolitical dimensions of the conflict, enriching the discussion with scholarly depth.

Adding another layer to the debate, Manzar Jameel cautioned against premature conclusions. He noted that the situation remains fluid, with further ceasefire negotiations expected. Drawing parallels with the Arab Spring, he reminded the audience of the premature optimism that once accompanied uprisings in Tunisia and Egypt. He also highlighted the enduring tensions in the Israel–Iran relationship.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Aftab Alam, who expressed gratitude to the speakers, chair, and audience for their participation and contributions to the success of the event.
