Bangladesh has condemned the recent Israeli strikes on Lebanon that caused civilian deaths and injuries, saying such attacks are undermining ongoing efforts to restore peace and stability in the region.

In a press release issued on Thursday, April 10, the ministry of foreign affairs also condemned the killing of Dipali Khatun, 34, a Bangladeshi national, who was reportedly killed in an Israeli attack in Beirut.

The government expressed condolences to her bereaved family and said it stands in solidarity with them during this difficult time. According to the release, the Bangladesh embassy in Lebanon is in contact with Dipali’s family and will repatriate her mortal remains when the situation permits.

Dipali, a resident of Char Shalepur village under Char Harirampur union, was killed on Wednesday, April 8, in Beirut’s Hamra area after a missile struck the residence where she had been staying with her employer’s family. Members of the employer’s family were also reportedly killed.
