The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heatwave to severe heatwave conditions over Himachal Pradesh today. Heatwave conditions will also prevail over Jharkhand and Odisha for the day. The Met Department has predicted hot and humid weather over Kerala, Mahe, the Konkan and Goa. Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya are likely to experience heavy rainfall today.

The weather agency has further predicted thunderstorms and lightning over Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Vidarbha, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and the Northeastern states. Additionally, Gujarat, the Western Himalayan region and eastern parts of the country will experience a rise in maximum temperature by two to four degrees Celsius until the 16th of this month. Parts of Northwest India, except for East Uttar Pradesh, will witness a fall in maximum temperature by three to five degrees Celsius during the next six days.
