Prominent Muslim organizations, including the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) and Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH), have expressed deep grief and outrage over the deadly car blast near Delhi’s Red Fort on Monday evening, which claimed multiple lives and injured several others. They have demanded a transparent and time-bound investigation, strict accountability for security failures, and adequate compensation for victims.
The AIMPLB, in a statement issued by its General Secretary Dr. Mohammad Qasim Rasool Ilyas, condemned the horrific incident and called it a matter of “grave concern” that such an explosion could occur in the heart of the national capital despite heavy security. The Board urged the government to identify those responsible for the lapse and bring the culprits to justice swiftly.
“The Board expresses heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and prays for the speedy recovery of the injured. It is imperative that the investigation be fair, transparent, and independent,” the statement read.
The AIMPLB President, Maulana Khalid Saifullah Rahmani, described the blast as “a tragic and alarming incident” and demanded immediate accountability from security and intelligence agencies. He also appealed to the public to remain calm and not fall prey to rumors or divisive propaganda.
Echoing similar sentiments, Syed Sadatullah Husaini, President of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, termed the blast a “heinous act” and called for unity and restraint. “If confirmed to be a terror attack, this must be condemned in the strongest terms. Terrorism cannot represent any religion; it betrays every moral and human value,” he said. Husaini also cautioned against media sensationalism and urged responsible reporting.
Meanwhile, the Welfare Party of India expressed shock and demanded the resignation of the Union Home Minister over the security lapse. Dr. S.Q.R. Ilyas, National General Secretary (Org), said the government must take moral responsibility and ensure victims’ families receive fair compensation and support.
All three organizations reiterated that peace and unity must prevail in this difficult time. “Only a united society can safeguard India’s pluralism and peace,” Husaini added.
