Union Minister of Rural Development and Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, today interacted with Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MNREGA) beneficiaries, representatives from civil society organisations, field functionaries, and officials from states, districts, blocks, and gram panchayats.
Speaking on the occasion in New Delhi, Mr. Chouhan stressed enhancing MNREGA for poor beneficiaries and urged proper utilisation of central funds for the scheme. He said this discussion provides an opportunity to give new suggestions and set a direction to make this scheme more effective. The minister stated that MNREGA plays an important role in stability and empowerment in the lives of millions of people in rural India.
