Prime Minister and Senior BJP leader Narendra Modi said, the development projects like Nagpur- Mumbai Samruddhi Express Highway, Nagpur-Goa Green Highway, Railway connectivity between Wardha- Yavatmal- Nanded-, Dry port in Sindi Railway , Textile park in Amravati will change the face of Vidarbha which was earlier known to be one of the backward region in the state . Mr. Modi was addressing an election campaigning rally at Talegaon in Wardha today. On this occasion he appealed to people for electing the BJP candidate Ramdas Tadas from Wardha constituency.
While highlighting the works done by his government in the last 10 years, Mr. Modi informed that, in the last ten years 25 crore people were lifted out of poverty and 4 crore poor families were given concrete houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. He explained that his government has done the work of providing drinking water connection to 11 crore people and electricity to every village.
On this occasion Mr. Modi also stated that, In the next five years, 3 crore houses will be built for the poor, piped water and gas will be provided to every family and free treatment up to Rupees 5 lakhs will be provided to the elders above 70 years of age.
While underlining the importance of women development, Mr. Modi said, More than one and a half lakh women are associated with the self help groups in Wardha district alone. He informed that his government has sent assistance worth 1,200 crore Rupees for such Self Help Groups in Wardha . He also said that to ensure an allround participation of women in sectors like IT and retail the NDA government has also launched schemes like Drone Didi, Lakhpati Didi.
Meanwhile, from MahavikasAghadi, Nationalist Congress Party – Sharadchandra Pawar faction has fielded Amar Kale from Wardha Constituency. The NCP Candidate is contesting for the first time from this constituency.The Bahujan Samaj Party has given candidature for Dr. Mohan Raikwar. Total 24 candidates are in the fray in Wardha constituency.
Wardha and other 4 constituencies in Western Vidarbha – Amravati, Yavatmal -Washim, Buldana and Akola will go to poll on 26th of this month.
