here the Minister for Women and Child Development Krishna Tirath said that the government would ensure that the livelihood of Scheduled Tribes, specially tribal women were protected while acquiring land for developmental works.
The minister said, steps would be taken so that Tribal people get all benefits of the government schemes. Mrs. Tirath said that all issues related to tribal women and children will be analyzed and discussed in the conference so that proper planning may be done for 12th plan.
She said MNREGA has helped a lot to contain migration of tribals as they are getting employment at their native places. The Minister said exploitation, health and livelihood of tribal people are the matter of concern to government and all measures will be taken to tackle these issues.
Representatives of State Governments, NGOs and welfare departments and field workers are participating in the conference.
