The Key domestic indices ended in green amid mixed cues from the global share markets. The BSE sensex gained 493 points, or 0.74 percent, to close at 67,481. The NSE Nifty rose 135 points, or 0.67 percent, to end at 20,268. The Nifty hit a record high of 20,282 in intra-day trade.

In the broader market at the BSE, the Mid-Cap index rose by 0.96 percent and the Small-cap index gained 0.48 percent.

In the Sensex Index, which is a pack of 30 companies, shares of 18 companies appreciated while 12 companies declined. ITC jumped up 3.28 percent, NTPC rose by 2.97 percent and Axis Bank climbed 2.71 percent.

On the other hand, Wipro fell 1.34 percent, Mahindra & Mahindra declined 1.27 percent and Maruti lost 0.37 percent.

In sectoral indices at the BSE, all sectors registered gain except Auto sector which slipped by 0.46 percent while Information Technology remained unchanged. Power sector climbed 1.57 percent, FMCG jumped up 1.53 percent and Capital Goods gained 1.46 percent.

The overall market breadth was positive, as the shares of 2,141 companies appreciated while those of 1,601 declined. A total of 130 companies remained unchanged.
