The increase in allocation for the Ministry of Minority Affairs also does not commensurate with the requirement and is much less than similar disadvantaged group like SC and ST. The budget for the Ministry of Minority Affairs has been increased from 2615 crore to 2866 cores a very insignificant increase.
It may be noted that Rs100 crore has been reduced in the revised budget of the Ministry of Minority Affairs for the financial year 2010-11. The revised budget is now 2500 crore instead of original budget of 2600 crore.
It is a matter of concern that in 2010-11 the original budget estimates for Multi-Sectoral Development Program was 1245 crore which has been reduced to 1179 crore in the revised estimates and in 2011-12 the amount has been further reduced to 1054.
He said that non-inclusion of the demand for Special Campus of Aligarh Muslim University and non-declaration of the target for completion of the National Projects being implemented in Assam really disheartened the people of Assam.
He said that it was a matter of real concern that the demand for complete Sealing Indo Bangladesh Border has been totally ignored. Instead Non-Plan Capital outlay for Indo-Bangladesh Border work has been reduced from 519 crore to only Rs.3 crore
