DUBAI: Indian Consul General for Dubai, Sanjay Verma, has said that Expatriate Indians in the Gulf have a significant role to play in India’s vibrant economic growth story. Addressing the inaugural session of the Indian Investment Seminar and Meet in Dubai, he said, India’s economic model that blends capitalism with a strong regulatory mechanism would enable it to ensure its long-term growth.
The event has attracted a line-up of leading Indian financial institutions as participants showcasing not only their products but also the myriad investment opportunities in India.
Other speakers at the two-day Khaleej Times annual investment seminar that opened on Friday morning at the Dhow Palace Hotel included Paras Shahdadpuri, chairman of Indian Business and Professional Council, Dubai, and R. Bupathy, an expert on Indian taxation and investment.
The event has attracted a line-up of leading Indian financial institutions as participants showcasing not only their products but also the myriad investment opportunities in India.
Shahdadpuri said the UAE, India’s largest trade partner, could also be role model for the country in its infrastructure development. He also stressed the role Indian expatriates in the Gulf have been playing in the Indian growth story.
