In the Upper Midwestern state of Wisconsin, United States, more than 20 people including children were plowed through by a vehicle. The incident occurred when a sports utility vehicle plowed through a Christmas parade in Waukesha, Wisconsin, on Sunday.
Police Chief Dan Thompson said it hit more than 20 people including children. He confirmed people had died but said they would not give details until family members had been told. Police Chief said the suspected vehicle has been recovered and a person of interest was taken into custody. He gave no further details adding the investigation was very fluid.
Fire chief Steven Howard told reporters that 11 adults and 12 children were taken to nearby hospitals after the incident. The city’s police department later said Waukesha’s public schools would be closed on Monday.
