The state government has fixed Minimum Support Price for 32 Minor Forest Produce in Madhya Pradesh. These include 18 small forest species for the first time such as Giloy, Kalmegh, Gudmar and Jamun seeds. Forest Minister Kunwar Vijay Shah said that the minimum price of 14 minor forest produce was increased in April this year.
With the fixation of the collection value of minor forest produce, forest dwellers will not have to depend on middlemen for these forest produce. This will also improve their economic condition.
