Union Minister for Road Transport, Highways and MSMEs Nitin Gadkari today laid the foundation stone and inaugurated National highway projects worth Rs. 777 Cr. today in Maharashtra, Gadchiroli district.

The inauguration took place via video conferencing in which Minister for State for Road Transport General V.K.Singh, State PWD Minister Ashok Chavan also participated.

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari laid the foundation stone of 4 Major Bridges on Perimilli, Bandiya ,Pearlkota and Waingagana River in Gadchroli district.
He also inaugurated Major Bridge of 4.30 km on Pranhita River, 20 km long Major Bridge across Indravati River near Lankachen State Highway.

Mr. Gadkari while inaugurating these works in Gadchiroli district through Video conferencing, lauded the efforts taken by Engineers, Contractors and police administration for executing and cooperating in these construction works amid Naxal threats. He said newly constructed all-weather roads and bridges will play a main role in connecting the Naxal-affected regions of Maharashtra, Telangana and Chhattisgarh.

He also inaugurated 33 km all weather road connecting the remote tribals and Naxal affected areas of Gadchirlo and Gondiya district. Minister for State for Road Transport General V.K.Singh said the united works of Centre and State for improvement of road network in Naxal affected areas of Gadchiroli will result in diminishing the Naxal effect and bringing the district into the mainstream of development.

Ministers from the state government including State PWD Minister Ashok Chavan, Guardian Minister for Gadchiroli Eknath Shinde and MLAs from Gadchiroli district, PWD and NHAI officials were also present in the video conference.
