Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said, any lapse in performance of the officers related to the Nizamuddin case will not be tolerated and government will not hesitate in taking stringent action against anybody responsible for it.
In a digital press conference today, Mr Kejriwal termed Markaz gathering a irresponsible move which may put lives of thousands at stake. He said, over 1500 people have been evacuated from Markaz and out of these 24 are found corona positive.
He said, 441 individuals with corona symptoms have been immediately hospitalized and over 1100 are being quarantined.
Mr Kejriwal said, So far, the number of corona-infected people has reached 97 in Delhi, out of which five patients have been discharged after recovery and two have died. He said, out of total infected people, 24 are of Markaz and 41 cases are of those who have a record of foreign travel and 22 cases belong to the families of these people.
He said, by analyzing all these 97 cases, the government is trying to find out if the infection is spreading fast in the capital. He said that the corona infection in Delhi has not yet reached the third stage.
Mr Kejriwal said, from tomorrow onwards, the government will cater food to 10-12 lakh needy daily at 2750 centres.
He also appealed industrialists to provide hospitals with Personal Protective Equipment, PPEs, testing kits and ventilators in spite of any form of assistance as these are very much needed in the fight against pandemic.
