Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari saturday asked the leader of elected members of the single largest party, BJP’s Devendra Fadnavis to indicate willingness and ability of his party to form the government.

Elections to the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly were held on 21st October and the results were declared on 24th October. However, even after 15 days, no single party or alliance of parties has come forward to form the government. The Governor has, therefore, decided to explore the possibility of formation of Government.

Meanwhile, BJP leader Sudhir Mungantwar said receiving an invitation from the Governor is a part of the Constitutional process, and Shiv Sena should respect the mandate. He said the decision on forming the government will be decided in the core committee meeting tomorrow. He added that the BJP is ready for talks with Shiv Sena any time.
