BJP and Congress today released lists of their candidates for forthcoming bypolls. BJP announced names of 32 candidates for Assembly by-polls in 13 states. Sanat Gadtia will be the party candidate from Bijepur seat in Odisha and S.Suresh will contest from Vatiyoorkavu in Kerala. Nabanita Handique will contest from Sonari seat in Assam. Switi Singh will be the candidate for Kishanganj in Bihar and Dr. Kota Rama Rao will fight from Huzurnagar in Telangana. Suresh Tiwari has been given ticket to contest from Lucknow Cantt seat and Vijay Rajbhar from Ghosi assembly constituency in Uttar Pradesh.

In Uttar Pradesh, BJP today announced its list of 10 candidates for the Assembly bypolls. There are 11 seats for which election will be held on 21st of next month. Tomorrow is the last date for filing of nomination. Suresh Tiwari will fight from Lucknow cantonment seat which fell vacant after election of Reeta Bahuguna Joshi for Loksabha. Bharat Bhushan Gupta is Party candidate from Rampur while Surendra Maithani will contest from Govind Nagar seat at Kanpur. Name of candidate for Pratapgarh seat will be announced later. Out of these 11 seats, 8 were held by BJP and one each by BSP and SP.

Congress also announced the list of four candidates for Assembly bypolls in 3 states and also for Samastipur Parliamentary constituency. While Sayeeda Banu will be the Congress candidate in Kishanganj in Bihar, Rita Chaudhary for Mandawa and Harendra Mirdha will be the party candidate for Khinwsar Assembly constituency in Rajasthan. Mannu Devi will be the Congress candidate in Balha assembly seat in Uttar Pradesh and Dr. Ashok Kumar will fight the Samastipur Parliamentary seat.
