The death toll from floods and landslides triggered by heavy rain in Nepal has gone up to 50. Thirty five people are still missing and twenty five have been injured in various parts of the country due to rainfall since Thursday. Seventeen persons died in Province no 1, Eight in Province 2, Thirteen in Province 3, Two each in Province 5 and Karnaili Province.

Eight people lost their lives in Kathmandu valley. Hundreds of houses have been damaged and thousands of people displaced. Transportation was also disrupted as many highways were blocked due to floods and landslides. Rescue and relief operation is carried out by Nepal Police, Army and local administration in affected areas.

More than 1100 people have been rescued so far. According to Flood Forecasting Division, water level in all major and medium rivers of the country is likely to remain near at mark. People living on the banks of rivers are advised to be on . According to Meteorological Forecasting Division, heavy rainfall is likely to occur at a few places of the eastern and central regions and at one or two places of the western region.
