As heavy rains lashed Mumbai and neighbouring areas, the temperature saw a dip and settled at 27 Degrees Celsius.
Several flights delayed at Mumbai airport due to heavy rains. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has cautioned people against opening manholes to avoid mishaps.
Mumbai has finally received the first rainfall of this monsoon season. This is the longest delay in the last ten years in arrival of monsoon in Mumbai.
According to the IMD, the delay has been caused due to the late onset over Kerala and cyclone “Vayu”.
Large parts of India, meanwhile, remain parched as people desperately await overdue monsoon rains.
