Normal life across Odisha, particularly in western districts of Odisha has been severely paralyzed following an intense heat wave condition, which is prevailing for the more than a week.

As many as 14 places of the State recorded temperature over 40 degree Celsius today. Mercury rose to 46.3 degree Celsius in Talcher followed by 44.5 degree Celsius in Titilagarh.

Most of the Western Odisha towns have crossed 43 degrees Celsius. Heatwave and drinking water crisis has compounded the miseries of people in these areas.

The coastal pockets were not spared by the heat as the humidity levels went up making life uncomfortable.

According to the Bhubaneswar meteorological centre communiqué, the prevailing heat wave conditions are likely to continue in almost all parts of the State for next few days.
