In Women’s Cricket, the Indian team will aim for a solid show in the opening game of the three-match T20 series against New Zealand beginning in Wellington today. The match will begin at 8:30 AM Indian time.

India won the three-match ODI series 2-1 but they suffered an eight-wicket loss at Hamilton on Friday after being bowled out for 149. Harmanpreet Kaur will lead the T20 side. Eyes will also be on uncapped all-rounder Priya Punia, who replaced Veda Krishnamurthy in the squad.

It will be India’s first game in the format ever since the infamous loss to England at the World T20 in the Caribbean, where Mithali was dropped from the semifinal clash. The three-games will also help the team management assess where it stands ahead of the T20 World Cup in Australia early next year.
