Two people including a police inspector have been killed in violence that flared up at a village in Bulandshahr, western Uttar Pradesh, when carcasses of cows were found today.

subodh-kumarInspector Subodh Kumar Singh died when the mob, throwing stones, took on the police who had arrived to restore law and order. A local resident died and another policeman, a constable, has been seriously injured.

Uttar Pradesh government has formed Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe Bulandshahr violence in which two persons including one Inspector killed on Monday.

A separate investigation will also be carried by ADG intelligence in the matter.

Inspector Subodh Kumar Singh, who got seriously injured in an attack by villagers at Syana in Bulandshahr, succumbed to his injuries in hospital.

One Villager also killed in the clashes which broke out on Monday morning after some carcasses were found in a farm near Syana.

ADG Law and Order Anand Kumar told media persons in Lucknow that angry villagers blocked the highway and when police tried to open the jam they attacked police with country-made arms and sticks.

An FIR has been registered in this case.

He said that the situation is now under control in Syana and heavy police force is deployed in the area.

ADG Meerut zone and IG zone are camping in Bulandshahr and 6 companies of PAC along with 5 companies of RAF was also rushed to the spot. Police are keeping extra vigil in the wake of Tablighi Jamat congregation for which around 15 lakh people gathered in the district.

ADG Law and Order said that more than 8 to 9 lakh people have left the city and rest will also leave very soon as the congregation got over today.
