The nation remembers the first Prime Minister of India, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru on his 129th birth anniversary today. The day is also being celebrated as Children’s Day.
President Ramnath Kovind, Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tributes to Pandit Nehru on the occasion. In a tweet, Mr Modi said, we recall his contribution to our freedom struggle and during his tenure as Prime Minister.
Former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi also paid tributes to Pt. Nehru at his Samadhi-Shanti Vana in New Delhi.
