India beat West Indies by 71 runs in the second Twenty-20 international in Lucknow on Tuesday, taking a 2-0 lead in the 3-match series.
Earlier, riding on skipper Rohit Sharma’s 111 not out off 61 balls, the hosts scored 195 for 2 in stipulated twenty overs. Shikhar Dhawan scored 43 while KL Rahul contributed 26.
India brought back Bhuvneshwar Kumar in place of Umesh Yadav while the West Indies replaced Rovman Powell with Nicolas Pooran.
India defeated the West Indies by five wickets in the first Twenty-20 International at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata last Sunday to take a 1-0 lead in the 3-match series.
India’s last win against the West Indies before Sunday came way back on March 23, 2014 in the World T20 in Bangladesh.
With the win at the Eden Gardens, India managed to better their head-to-head record against the reigning world T20 champions to 5-3 now from nine exchanges between 2009 and 2017.
The third and final game is slated to be held in Chennai on the 11th of this month.
