farmer protest

AMN / NEW DELHI

Agriculture Secretary SK Pattanayak has said, the Centre will take up the issue of protesting farmers with states as many of their issues are local in nature. Speaking on the sidelines of an event in New Delhi, Mr Pattanayak said, so far, they have not received any representation from the protesting farmers’ bodies. Various farmers organisations launched a 10-day agitation yesterday in Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, to press for their demands, including loan waiver and right price for crops.
