Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) Girls School Saturday observed its 112th Founder’s Day to commemorate school founders, Jenaab Shaikh Abdullah (Papa Mian) and Begum Waheed Jahan (Aala Bibi).The celebrations took place in a special morning assembly session with participations from school teachers, staff and students.

Mrs Amna Malik (Principal, AMU Girls School) said that the life and works of Sheikh Abdullah continue to encourage students for remaining dedicated to their goals. “During his life time, Papa Mian continued his work and struggle despite facing problems,” said Mrs Malik.

She added that students can achieve their goals with focus, perseverance and confidence.

On the occasion, school students delivered speeches and recited poems. They also sang the school Tarana (Anthem). Students with staff members visited Sheikh Abdullah’s grave to pay homage. The programme was organised under the supervision of Mrs Arshi Zafar Khan (Cultural Coordinator).
