Indian Military Academy Dehradun.jpgvvAs many as 610 Gentleman Cadets (GCs) including 45 from six friendly foreign countries passed out from the Indian Military Academy at Dehradun today. The Parade was reviewed by Lieutenant General Sarath Chand, General Officer Commanding- in -Chief of South Western Command.

The Gentleman Cadets displayed tremendous enthusiasm, vigour and zeal at an impressive passing out parade in the presence of the Reviewing Officer and the august gathering.

Of the 565 Indian cadets, the maximum 98 commissioned officers are from Uttar Pradesh, followed by 60 each from Bihar and Haryana. Uttarakhand ranked 4th with 52 officers. Rajendra Singh Bisht adjudged as the best all around GC of the course was presented with the Sword of Honour.

Aman Dhaka was awarded the gold medal while N. Dinesh Kumar got the silver medal. In his address, the Reviewing Officer, Lieutenant General Sarath Chand called upon the young officers to strive for excellence in their career by adopting new technologies. With today’s Passing -out- Parade IMA has become an institution having given 58 thousand 983 Army Officers to the country so far.
