Five persons were killed and four others injured when a two-storey house collapsed due to heavy rainfall at Kharkhaunda in Meerut in Uttar Pradesh, in the wee hours today….
The deceased include three children.
Police said, four persons were rescued and they have been sent to district hospital for treatment. Some animals are also feared trapped into the debris.
Heavy rain, which lashed for more than two hours in Meerut last evening, is believed to be the reason for the collapse.
Police and rescue teams have finished their work and the bodies have been sent for the post mortem.
