Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the reign of Emperor Vikramaditya presents an ideal example of good governance. He was the only ruler from whose life’s various incidents people still draw inspiration. The works and innovations done by him are still relevant today. At present Hijri and Vikram Samvat are in practice.
In this Vikram Samvat is a Samvat that follows a liberal tradition, that is, the condition for the one who starts the Samvat is that only the one who has the ability to repay the debt of the entire public can start the Samvat. Emperor Vikramaditya made this possible with his good governance, encouragement to trade and business and farsightedness. Vikramaditya started Vikram Samvat in 57 BC after defeating the foreign Shaka invaders. Vikram Samvat has 60 different types of names. Samvat 2082 has been named “Siddhartha” in the resolution of religious rituals. These 60 names keep changing in cycles. Vikramaditya’s justice was propagated in the country and the world. This Samvat became an important scientific based calendar of Indian history, which is prevalent even today.
