Two militants were killed in an encounter with security forces in south Kashmir’s Kaigam Tral area in Pulwama district in Jammu & Kashmir,.
DIG South Kashmir Range Nitish Kumar told AIR that two Pakistani militants Chhota Burmee and Adil Pathan of Jaish e Muhammad (JeM) were killed around 6 this evening in a joint surgical operation of Army and Special Operations Group (SOG) of State Police.
An Army spokesman said one Army jawan was also injured during the operation. He said two AK-47 rifles and other ammunition was recovered from the encounter site.
During past around five weeks, five local militants were killed during different encounters with security forces in Pulwama district. The deceased militants included one Hizb and four Lashkar e Toiba militants.
