At least 12 Army jawans were injured in an “accidental” explosion at an Army camp in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district today.

Out of the 12, seven jawans were critically injured and airlifted to 92 Base Hospital at Badamibagh Cantonment for treatment.

An Army official said that the explosion took place at Core Battle School (CBS) at Khrew in Awantipora area of Pulwama.

The officer said it was not immediately known as to how the explosion happened. It could be accidental. However, only an inquiry will establish the facts and nothing can be said at this time, he said.
