Eleven Indonesian fishermen were rescued after spending six days on a tiny island off the coast of Australia without food or water.

According to the Australian Maritime Safety Authority, they were evacuated to safety on Monday from Bedwell Island, around 330 kilometres (205 miles) west of Broome, Western Australia.

However, nine additional people are believed to be deceased.

According to the survivors, their two boats were battered by Tropical Cyclone Ilsa last week, sinking one of them. Nine of the vessel’s ten crew members are still missing.
