Ten rebel MLAs belonging to three different parties have tendered their resignation to the Assembly Speaker D.Dhanapal in Tamil Nadu today. Eight of them belong to the Vijayakant-led DMDK party, one from the PMK and the other from Puthiya Tamilagam.

They acted as separate teams on the floor of the Assembly. As the last day of the Assembly session for its full term of five years got over yesterday, they have resigned from their MLA position today. The DMDK rebel MLAs recently met the AIADMK supremo and state chief minister J.Jayalalithaa. Assembly election is due to be held in a few months time in Tamil Nadu.
