Former JDU MP Sabir Ali today joined BJP in presence of party state in-charge Bhupendra Yadav at Patna. After joining, Mr. Ali said he would expose those people who are trying to malign BJP in the name of communalism. He said both Nitish Kumar and Lalu Prasad are cheating people of Bihar on the basis of secularism.
In March last year when Ali was inducted into BJP, BJP’s Muslim face Naqvi had written on micro-blogging site Twitter: “Terrorist Bhatkal (Indian Mujahideen leader Yasin Bhatkal) friend join BJP…soon accepting dawood (underworld don Dawood Ibrahim)”. The tweet, which triggered a political storm, was deleted later.
Reacting to the charges, Ali said his brand of politics of uniting people could have made some people insecure. He also demanded an apology from Naqvi.
Ali had joined the BJP after being expelled by Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal (United) for praising the saffron brigade’s prime minister nominee, Narendra Modi.
