The Congress has criticized Finance Minister Arun Jaitley for his remarks that Congress is making irresponsible comments about execution of Yakub Memon. Talking to media in New Delhi , senior party leader Anand Sharma said, its is sad that Mr Jaitley has politicised the issue. Mr Sharma said, his party has always condemned terrorism and has proven its credentials when it comes to fighting terrorism.
Another party leader Randeep Singh Surjewala said, the BJP should not give sermons to the Congress on terrorism. Mr Surjewala said, the Congress has sacrificed its leaders like former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi fighting terrorism.
On statements made by Congress leaders Digvijaya Singh and Shashi Tharoor about Memon’s hanging, Mr Surjewala said, comments made by both the leaders are their personal views and the party has nothing to do with their remarks.
