Widespread rain continues in many parts of Saurashtra, Kutch and South Gujarat on the third day. According to official sources, 208 talukas of the state have received good rainfall during the last 24 hours.
Kalavad near Rajkot has recorded 275 millimeter rain, the maximum in the state. Padadhari, Dhrol, Bhachau and Rajkot city have also received 100 to 200 millimeter rain. According to sources, the state has already received 25.6 percent of average rainfall of the current monsoon season.
As per the latest data, the Kutch district has received more than 51 per cent rain of average rainfall. Saurashtra region has recorded more than 49 percent of average rainfall. North, South and Eastern parts of Gujarat have received 14 to 16 percent rain of average rainfall. Following the good rainfall, the farmers have started showing work.
