Supreme Court today issued notice to Madhya Pradesh Governor Ram Naresh Yadav and the Centre on a plea seeking his removal from the post for his alleged complicity in Vyapam scam.
A PIL has been filed seeking to set up guidelines on whether Yadav should continue as governor despite the allegations of corruption against him. The apex court has also issued notices to the state government seeking a response in three weeks.
The MP Governor is one of the accused in the multi-level MP Professional Examination Board (PEB), popularly called Vyapam, scam. His son Shailesh, also an accused in the scam, is among those who died under mysterious circumstances in Lucknow on March 25.
The Vyapam scam relates to the multi-crore educational-cum-recruitment irregularities in the Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board.
