Indo-Canadian pair of Rohan Bopanna and Denis Shapovalov beat German pair Kevin Krawietz and Andreas Mies to reach men’s doubles quarterfinals of US open tennis in New York.
Bopanna is the lone surviving Indian in the tournament after the exits of Sumit Nagal and Divij Sharan.
In Women’s singles, Serena Williams came back from a slow start to beat Sloane Stephens 2-6, 6-2, 6-2 in the US Open’s third round. She will face No. 15 Maria Sakkari of Greece in the fourth round.
